James Stuart McMillan was a skilled craftsman – a man of great personal integrity
who commanded universal respect and, although conservative in nature, he had enormous
pride in his work and a burning ambition for his company to be known for the quality
of its product and the integrity of its dealings.
Mcmillan Print Group sowed the original seed, but it was his sons Robert and Peter who supplied the cultivation that transformed a modest printing company into an industry giant. George Bernard Shaw could have been talking about Robert McMillan when he once said: “Most people look at things that are and ask, why? I look at things that never were and ask, why not?”
Robert McMillan has challenged and changed the whole approach to the printing industry and, in doing so, set the standard for others to follow.
